Crawl Space Encapsulation Service Areas — Asheville, NC
Storms push water under houses from Asheville to Hendersonville, Candler, Swannanoa, Weaverville, Fletcher, Mills River, Black Mountain and Mountain Home. We do crawl space encapsulation in every one of them to keep the space under your floor dry.
Asheville
Across Asheville, the low ground by the river is where water under a house is most likely. Shiloh, Southside, West End Clingman Avenue, South French Broad and Oakley are flood-prone neighborhoods. On the west side of RiverLink's building in the River Arts District, a white hash mark about 10 feet above ground shows how high floodwater has come. If you live near that ground, we work out how water reaches your foundation before we seal anything under the floor.
Hendersonville
In Hendersonville, the mountainous terrain makes flash flooding more likely. A fast storm sends water downhill against the foundation, and the uphill wall of a crawl space is where it tends to seep through. That wall and the vents are where we start.
Candler
Candler sits where Hominy Creek and South Hominy Creek meet. Ground near two creeks holds water after a storm. Under a house there, we look for wet soil and standing water on the dirt floor before we price any plastic.
Swannanoa
About 60 square miles drain to the part of Swannanoa that flooded so destructively in Helene, and big mountains ring the valley. That's a lot of runoff headed for houses on the valley floor. When we get under one, we check the piers for silt lines and pull back the insulation to see if it's wet.
Weaverville
Reems Creek runs along the east edge of Weaverville. Live near the creek and the ground under your house can stay damp well into summer. You'll notice it as a musty smell in the hallway or dark, damp joists when you open the access door.
Fletcher
Fletcher is mostly level ground, hilly in places, with Cane Creek and the French Broad River and their tributaries running through it. Flat lots drain slowly, so water that gets under a house tends to sit. On ground like that, we usually sort out the drainage before we lay any plastic.
Mills River
Inside the Town limits of Mills River, 3.25 square miles of land may regularly flood. If your house sits on that ground, a sump pump and a drain under the floor can matter more than the plastic does. We'll tell you which one your crawl space needs first.
Black Mountain
In Black Mountain, the Town regulates work in the floodplain and floodway, so on a low lot by the creek, more of the fix happens under the house. Houses near a creek sit on soil that can stay wet for days after rain. If yours is one of them, check the low wall of the crawl space after the next storm.
Mountain Home
Helene dropped at least 11.6 inches of rain on Mountain Home. Rain like that put water under the floor fast. Look through the access door once it passes, and if you see water or wet soil, that's the time to have us out.
Other towns we work in
We also work across Buncombe, Henderson, Haywood and Madison counties, from Woodfin and Arden out to Waynesville and Marshall.
